Prediction- Written Response: How did your prediction change as you read your book? What did you find out about the character(s) as you read? What evidence do you have to support this?

Prediction-
  • ‍‍‍‍‍What do you think is going to happen in the story (walking in the character's shoes), based on, & why do you think this? And then. . . & What's more . . . How will this be accomplished?

Strategies for Prediction:
  • Make a movie in our mind and telling it bit by bit.
  • Imagine what the character will do next AND how the character will do this.
  • Draw upon what already happened in the story and on the improtant details from earlier in the story.
  • Bring in our personal knowledge of similar experiences to decide what might come next in the text.
  • Imagine not only what the character will do but how he or she will do it!
